Over the last several campaign cycles we have seen the growth of political video content go from standard 30 second commercials to much longer web videos and even more so to, as we like to call it, “quick and dirty” videos that a volunteer might shoot at a campaign rally. With the easy accessibility of youtube and a video camera on every new cell phone, campaign video content does not just come from the campaigns these days.
In today’s blog we take a look at the top ten viewed videos that were posted by state committee’s during the 2010 election cycle. Before we get to the videos, a few quick stats:
Of the top 10 videos, 5 were from Democratic committees and 5 were from Republican committees.
Overall, the 5 Democrat videos were viewed 423,809 times while the 5 Republican videos were viewed 352,658 times.
Of the top 10 videos, 8 of them were raw footage from events.
Both the Kansas Democratic Committee and the New Hampshire Republican Committee had two videos make the top ten.
