In this week’s Digital Landscape Report, Michael Beach and Ryan Meerstein take a look at Governor races and Twitter for the first time this election cycle. Just as was seen in the senate races, there seems to be something in the water when it comes to Twitter in California. A few key points:
1. Jerry Brown is head and shoulders above the field with 1,110,797 followers
2. Meg Whitman leads GOP candidates with 236,019 followers.
3. Democrats have 75.90% of all Gov candidate followers, and Jerry Brown has 94.67% of all Dem Gov candidate followers.
4. The difference between first place (Jerry Brown) and fourth place (Deval Patrick) is a stunning 88:1.
